The epic, momentous fortress that guards our amazing coastline at Bamburgh…that infamous view of the castle from either direction now represents how glorious the North East coastline actually is.
You don’t have to travel far to see the site plastered across all memorabilia in photo frames to post cards and coastal coasters!

However this castle wasn’t just intimidating and imposing in a previous life…to this very day the castle commands attention due to its history of battles and hauntings. Some of the most famous Northern tales of ghosts come from this castle and the sand dunes outside. The legendary Pink Lady is said to walk the corridors…a body-less hand crawls across those sand dunes and a knight guards the battlements – and that is just for starters!
