Description
Imagine if you were poor, I mean really poor. You would be made to work in a mine, up a chimney or in the ‘poorhouse’ from as young as 5 or 6.
If you refused you would be beaten with rope, belts, leather straps or birch rods. If you had no job you were forced to live in what was a real Hell house.
Often used, raped and abused by the staff and other inmates. To this day the majority of those dying in the ‘workhouse’ were not even recorded.
A place of assaults, brutal sex crimes, intimidation and murder, all just because you were poor!
Here Alan tells the tales of the workhouse, and then an incredible ghost hunt into one of these buildings stained by the spirits of the dead..
Alan leads a team of sceptics, with special guest singer Lydia Baylis, into Ripon’s notorious ‘poorhouse’.
The result is incredible, as these poor sceptical people are put in alone, and get the shock of their lives!
Includes bonus interview with Lydia Baylis
